Furnace Matrix Systems
We have installed many of these systems across the UK and Europe and they are proving to be a really useful tool for predicting and preventing furnace leaks and allowing the companies to see the wearing of a furnace floor and act and make repairs and maintain the furnace ahead of time to prevent furnace leaks which result in huge costs to repair damage from the molten material leaking on other plant and equipment located beneath the furnace and obviously preventing the huge losses that come with loss of production when the furnace is out of action to repair the damage caused by a leak.
These systems consist of a 'blanket' of thermocouples evenly spread across the bottom of the furnace in small holes drilled into the furnace bottom. We created a design to install 50-100 thermocouples depending on the furnace size.
We provide all of the monitoring equipment, thermocouples, bespoke mounting brackets, all of the containment, socket boxes, cabling to each thermocouple from the control panel, comms equipment, control panel build, and full installation of the systems, and also seamlessly link this system into their existing furnace control system for easy monitoring and alarming.
The system monitors each thermocouple reading and alarms on rate of change in temperature to alert them to 'hot-spots', an area which is increasing in temperature, which highlights where the furnace is potentially wearing faster and allows them to action this and make necessary repairs before disaster hits resulting in very high costs in damages and downtime.
